There is a place in the south I'd definitely go back to, that is Huerquehue in Región de la Araucanía. It is one of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen. I went there two years ago during the last week of March, right after all the summer crowd went back to Santiago, and it was the best decision because it was very peaceful. In Huerquehue you are surrounded by nature as it is a natural reserve, therefore you can do many activities like doing trekking, swim in the lake, go fishing (if you like it), doing kayak, camping. I think I wouldn't change anything there, because as it is a reserve it has certain rules for visitors and this way remains protected. You can see a lot of advertisements to be respectful with the environment, taking with you any garbage you may have and I think in general everything looks very clean and well protected otherwise it could be contaminated or intervened by people who go there.
